That being said, while NO ONE has found out how to make trayexecbytray work, there is a different command that does the same thing. It is called UseTraySlot. It has 2 integer variables as described below. So for instance let's say we wanted to bind the key T to activate ALL of tray 9.
I hope I was able to resolve this issue for you. Happy gaming : If you want to send me a thank you, my in game handle is Krychi Kalinrey. Last edited by kalinrey ; 12 Jul, am. Let's try that again After I got errors out the Wazoo this is what I did I used this text in a file I called Space.
So now it isn't a perfect execution, but if you mash the space bar it will eventually press all the skills. I hope this helps Krychi Kalinrey. All rights reserved. I've been working on my main toon and his equipment. I have upgraded as far as I can for now. I think my next step is to start using key binds. I have been reading up on this all over the web. Mostly it sounds like a tremendous pain in the butt. Can any out there recommend an easy process or a program for doing this that works well?
I am still trying to figure out the balance between Boff and Doff abilities as well. I would really like to have this thing tweeked in by Sunday night as best I can. TacPaddy Unregistered. In essence get ready to slam your spacebar a lot. Thanks TP. I hear a lot about the space bar. Can't things be mapped else where? I would l like to break thing up into 3 keys or more. Offensive, defensive, and heals. I will check out the data you linked here but if this is to much of a pain I will just keep doing what I have been.

Fortnite: Battle Royale. We're all used to firing up a new PC game and feeling confused about how to access all the commands via the keyboard. That's not surprising, given how simple controllers are. Hopefully, it will help me next time!Information on simple key binding and their functions can be found by following this link. This guide provides easy-to-read instructions to customize the gaming experience, regardless of experience level in coding and computers. Although this is a safe and recommended way to bind key combinations, there are a few things to consider:.
I highly suggest if you're interested in scripting, that your first scrip include a key bind to load the script file being used.
This way you don't have to type the lengthy directory prefix for the file's location every time you make a change in the script. See: [Script to reload Script file]. A keybind is also a scripted line in a text file which using STO's scripting language, proper format and syntax assigns a key to one or more than one predefined action.
When loaded into the game from your computer, pressing a key on your keyboard invokes one or more than one operation to occur in a predefined order. Both methods produce keybinds; the details and limitations on how to accomplish this will be given below.
The purpose of a key bind is to provide a quick and efficient set of commands without the need for multiple key-presses. One example can be during combat; using multiple key-presses can limit the amount of space for skills due to keyboard limitations, whereas a customized bind could assign the same skills to one key. The game parses multiple skills bound to a key faster than activating them separately. More seasoned players can remove debuffing skills on teammates with just one bind. By adding at least three seconds, the alternative is selecting a teammate and then activating the debuffing skill.
Key binds are essential to becoming a successful Starship Officer. Multiple key binds are essential to becoming a superior Starship Officer! This method uses the syntax:. A list of commands recognized in-game is available by entering the following command in the chat window:. This command will generate a list of commands in the [system] chat channel which can usually be found under the NPC tab; it is yellow by default.
Note: This list can be quite long. Commands in the bind file must be loaded in-game before being usable. Either method will generate the same result. Using a bind file has the benefit recognizing other binds previously created. Using the "Reset to Default" button will only reset the game to the key binds created by Cryptic.
Any binds that these don't overwrite will still exist. Many commands require parameters to function properly. These include:. Integers are whole numbers: 0, 1, 2, 3 and so on. A string is a sequence of characters required to properly execute. Examples include, but are not limited to: player names, power names and chat channels. When scripting key bind commands, all commands are considered strings and inserted in the script between two quotes. A parameter is a reference or value that is passed to a command.
The key to using multiple commands is putting multiple commands in succession. Special keys use custom syntax, examples include:. By not assigning Alt-Tab, this problem can be avoided.
Ex: Numpad The player's basic key binds for a character can be found in the Options:Key Binds menu. To generate a character's bind file, write the following in the chat window:. A bind file isn't limited to the root directory and can be placed anywhere on the computer. In order to load it, it must be specified entirely as:.You can comment on this guide in its thread on the STO forums.
Please note that although this guide can still serve as a starting point and provide you with basic ideas and concepts, the recommendations regarding the choice of ships, gear, reputation traits and duty officers are not up-to-date anymore because there have been significant additions to the game since this guide was written. The intention of this guide is to give you the information you need to stop being a liability for your side in a PVP match.
You will be given exactly one basic build for your ship class that you just need to implement. A solid build is an important first step, because you cannot succeed without a good build. Then you can begin practising how to fly it. Since I will give you exactly one build, there are often ways to modify the build without changing the core idea - like choosing a different ship within a class or using different energy types.
If you know what you are doing, you can make these adjustments. But if you really knew what you were doing, you probably wouldn't need a cookie cutter guide. Since there are now many items in the game that are timegated reputation systemrequire membership in a fleet and sufficiently advanced fleet holdings or are only obtainable from chance-based events lockboxes, doff packsI provide Basic, Advanced and Elite configurations for the ships.
These are variations of a common theme. The Basic version can be easily set up by a single player without progress in the reputation system. The Advanced version includes gear from the reputation system, lower level fleet gear and easily obtainable doffs.
The Elite version additionally includes high-level fleet gear and rare items that can only be obtained by chance or for high prices on the exchange. Despite using expensive gear, the Elite version is not supposed to be the best ship design in the game, it is intended to be a competitive and easy to learn build that is largely independent of shortlived "flavour of the week" fads.
The bridge officer abilities for the Basic layout are chosen in way so that they are available from either the bridge officer trainer or from candidates that you can easily buy from the exchange or C-Store. Since bridge officer abilities are chosen with availability in mind, there are sometimes slightly better setups that require captain-trained abilities or abilities that are only available from certain bridge officer candidates.
Such setups are included in the Advanced and Elite configurations. For the most part the guide gives gear recommendations which are easily obtained and comparatively cheap. Since the changes in Season 7 regarding how one acquires STF gear have made some of the items more difficult to get and the fleet starbase and reputation systems offer new items that can be unlocked, the Basic gear recommandations are now accompanied by a suggested gear progression that you can use as an outline of how to upgrade your gear over time.
The Basic builds use ships that you get for free during leveling up. If you don't have that ship, you don't have to pay tons of dilithium to obtain it, you can simply get the Mirror version of the ship in a usually cheap reward box on the exchange. All the Basic gear is available from the dilithium store beneath your mini map or as PVE mission rewards. The following list gives the sources for the items that are not available in the dilithium store. There are many ways to acquire weapons, e.Cookies will be added when logging in with "Remember Me".
Now I can see the potential to map all my space magic, healing and damage powers to different buttons on my mouse using the partial tray command. I don't need a doctor, damn it, I am a doctor! Star Trek Online. Global Achievements. Started playing STO less than a week ago and after too many hours in front of the old screen I find myself at lvl I treated myself to a new ship, a tactical temporal escort and now I am unsure of weapons set up!!! Can anyone assist? After spending much time on you tube I find the videos a little advanced for someone who is essentially a new player, entirely excusable as the game has been around for some time but you know!!!!
Anyway, should I go for beams? Showing 1 - 15 of 27 comments. It depends, there's so much to choose from, and so many special weapons. As a base, beams have wider firing arcs, but do somewhat less damage, while cannons and dual cannons have much narrower arcs, but comparatively better damage and 1 more shot per cycle. Check the New Frontiers episodes. There are also reputation and unique starship consoles and sets that can give bonuses to damage output, and engineering consoles that boost starship weapon power level.
If you wan a decent beam phaser, do "Everything old is New" a few times, it's got a DMGx2 beam phaser array as a selectable reward. Thanks chaps Would you put beams up front and cannons on the side or beams all over? So much choice You don't mix beams and cannons including turrets.
